Evan Joseph Tyree

My dear friend Marcy was due to have her 2nd son August 7th... well there was a change of plans.  A few weeks ago only 32 weeks pregnant she was told she would have to stay in the hospital till the baby was either born or reached 35 weeks.  She had a miserable week in the hospital not being able to stop her contractions.  I felt so bad knowing she was in pain and had to stay in the hospital away from Alex (Luke's BFF).  So long story short her family has been by her bedside non stop Wes her husband.  Her mom and dad came in From St. Louis.  Her sister Abby and her Aunt and Uncle too.I bugged her everyday hoping she can find something for me to do to help her out. 

  Her sister Abby is getting married and her bridal shower was June 20th Marcy was so sad she could not attend.  Ben and I had a sitter coming so we could go to the shower when Wes called me and asked if I could stay with marcy till he got there and so her parents could go to the shower for Abby.  I said no problem I told the sitter not to come and went to the hospital to see Marcy.  I got there at 4:30 and was trying my best to cheer her up but she was in obvious discomfort to say the least.  The Doctor came and checked her and said she was dilated to 4-5 and just basically had to hang in there for the baby.  Well about a half hour later I was sitting with her on her bed as she was having a contraction and her water broke I went running out of the room the doctor was right there he came in and directed Marcy not to PUSH the baby was right there.  I was in total shock and Marcy did NOT get an Epidural cuz there was no time.  She had Evan less then 10 minutes later and what an experience it was.  

This is a picture of us a couple hours after Evan Joseph was born.  I was so glad I got to be there with her seeing one of your best friends give birth is the best experience I was in AWE of her strength and pain tolerance to be honest.  She is and has always been an amazing friend to me and now to have gone through that with her was something I will always treasure.  

We never thought Evan would be born that night I was just wanting to keep her company.  I feel bad I came and saw her twice that week and her family has been there 24/7 staying the nights with her too and I came to see her and was not even there for an hour and got all the action.  I did however call her mom on Marcy's cell and put the phone aside so she can listen to Evan's arrival.  

The sad news is that Wes missed his son's birth waiting for the sitter to watch Alex.  He jokes and says Carly got to see the birth and I got to see the placenta.  He is so funny.  He was in shock when I called and told him her water broke and then the baby was born.  The great news is the Evan was only in the NICU for a week and is now home with his wonderful family.  He is doing great and will always be extra special to me his Auntie Carly.

The next day I was so excited to go back and see Evan.  Marcy looked great and was so happy to hold her new baby boy.  He is just perfect as you can see.
